Mark Murphy Cruises to Four in a Row

USA Speedway was the venue for round four of the CBS Truck Series season. Mark Murphy won the pole and dominated the 150 lap event. No one came close to the #48 truck all night. Tony Pizzaro drove his way through the field to a 2nd place finish. Danger Zone teammates Zakk Miller and Zach Michael finished 3rd and 4th, with Ryan Mains earning his first top five result of the season.

Halfway through the season, the Trucks headed up north to Lime Rock Park for the series' only road course event of the season. Mike Tellier won the pole, but overdrove turn 1 giving Mark Guthrie the lead. Zakk Miller took over first after a frantic opening couple of laps. Miller continued to lead most of the race. Points leader Mark Murphy made the call to pit at halfway while Miller gambled on making it the distance. However, tires proved to be more important with the #48 truck and his new tires obliterating a 20+ second lead. Murphy took the lead and ran off with the race for his fourth straight win of the season.

The Trucks are off next week, but return the following week on December 2nd for some more short track racing at South Boston. Mark Murphy leads the points by 24 over Zach Michael. Zachary Miller sits 35 behind, Mark Guthrie is 41 back, and rounding out the top 5 is Mike Tellier who is 44 out of first. While the season is only halfway done, Murphy looks to be the clear favorite to walk away with his first CBS Truck Series title.
